“Throughout my life I suffered from irritable bowel syndrome. Over the years, my condition gradually worsened. I experienced abdominal pain, bloating, and fatigue after meals. As time passed, these symptoms intensified until, during a major personal crisis, I developed a severe inflammation in my intestine. My body weakened significantly, I could not function, and any food I ate was not digested, causing strong pain. At that time, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, a chronic inflammation of the intestine.
During this period, I experienced recurring episodes of pain, difficulty eating, and extreme weakness, which forced me to stop my normal activities. Conventional medicine recommended that I begin a monthly medical treatment in order to manage my condition. At that point, I realized I was on a path that could lead to my health getting worse, and I knew I needed to find another solution. This is when I chose to begin an intensive process with the Grinberg Method.
Through the Grinberg Method, I began a precise and consistent process that focused on working with my body. Thanks to the regular sessions, the tools I learned, and the guidance I received, the symptoms were gradually reduced and the way I related to my body transformed. Over time, the periods between flare-ups extended, eating became freer, and daily routine was slowly regained. This process allowed me not only to calm the symptoms but also to recover a sense of strength, balance, and trust in my body.
Today, my health has significantly improved. I have not had an attack for a long time, I feel more balanced, I can eat without fear, and the symptoms have decreased considerably.
I am deeply grateful for the healing process I have gone through and for regaining my health and freedom.”

“For many decades I have suffered from intestinal problems, usually with severe abdominal bloating, severe internal pressure, and a host of food intolerances and allergies.
For years I was busy avoiding food I was intolerant to, trying new diets, and strictly controlling and punishing myself.
Life was stressful and I was often joyless, irritable, annoyed, and frustrated.
Through my individual learning process with the Grinberg Method, I was able to focus on my deeply buried emotions and become aware that for decades I had suppressed feelings like fear, anger, shame, hatred, and frustration. These feelings had literally festered in my gut. No wonder I was always so bloated. The inflammatory processes also caused pain in my muscles and joints.
Through bodywork and conscious training in my body awareness, I gradually became aware of my pattern of wanting to please people and always being friendly and polite. I hold back my needs and have difficulty expressing what moves me. I often suppressed my anger. I have learned how this pattern manifests itself in my body as well, causing my diaphragm to tighten, cutting myself off, and pushing my stomach out. The tension extends from my jaw through my throat, neck, shoulder, and stomach to my lower back and legs. My entire body was involved in suppressing unpleasant feelings which I was not able to digest!
By clarifying the tension and then releasing it, a huge amount of energy is released in my body and my stomach can also relax. My discomfort and my bloated stomach have already improved significantly. I feel like I am increasingly regaining my joy for life. I experience myself as more powerful and more self-confident. I have more energy. I dare to express my needs, and what I appreciate most is that I can show myself more and I approach people attentively.”

“When I first came to the Grinberg Method, I was in a very broken state: my marriage had ended, I had no inner backbone, and I felt deeply disconnected from myself and from my body.
I always resisted emotional work through the body. For me, 'bodywork' was just about relaxation or feeling good, and I never thought it could have such a profound effect. I considered myself the type of person who relies on long years of psychotherapy and working through the mind. But during the crisis I was going through, something pushed me to give this method a try. After doing some research, I realized it wasn’t some 'alternative fad,' so I decided to experience it for myself.
I began an intensive process, and already in the very first meeting I felt I had entered something meaningful — a process that was right for me. I found myself crying, shouting, laughing, feeling pain, and gaining insights both during the sessions and in the months afterwards.
Almost a year later, I can say that I am in a completely different place. Emotionally, I feel much stronger. I am more connected to myself, and I now understand in a very real way what is possible through the body, and how powerful body-based work can be.
Today I continue to see a local practitioner on a weekly basis, and I feel that this is critical for my ongoing growth and for maintaining my well-being.”

“When I started having sessions with Avi, my relationship with sleep was at an all-time low. I found it difficult to go to bed at night because the nights were anything but restful. I was constantly waking up, under stress, unable to go back to sleep, grinding my teeth a lot and having breathing interruptions that tore me from my sleep.
In the course of the process, it was possible to make numerous difficult experiences in my life that I had repressed, forgotten, or avoided accessible again. Some were concrete memories, many were feelings and physical sensations. I could gradually feel how my body could breathe a sigh of relief and rest the more the complex inner tension was released. It felt as if Avi could help me to untangle a totally knotted and twisted thread.
The quality of my sleep has improved immensely. I can now usually sleep through the night. Even when I wake up in the night, I don't feel any discomfort and find my way back to sleep relatively easily.  I am naturally much more rested during the day as a result and many areas of my life are improving and changing positively because my body is carrying less weight and can finally sleep.”

During the sessions we worked mainly on my shoulder and abdomen.
Throughout the process I experienced various physical sensations and emotions such as anger and sadness.

“I started to learn the Grinberg Method at 36. As a single parent of three children, I did not want to go back into my old profession as a social worker. I was stuck in a grey life, frustrated, bored, and tired of day-to-day life. I did a two-year training as a doula; I liked this work, but still it was limited. During this time, I met the Grinberg Method, did a workshop, and knew: this is it! This is how I want to work with people. At this time doing another training was a challenge on different levels; at the same time, it was like waking up to life. Finally, I had a profession in which I did what I loved, could arrange my working time according to my family life, and would not have to worry about money. No more greyness and boredom. I even enjoyed the time with my children, when before it was just a duty. I was quite busy, sometimes stressed, but much more satisfied. I worked as a Practitioner of the Grinberg Method for more than 30 years. Now I am retired, but I still love to give sessions to friends or family members, if needed. To be able to do this is a real gift for me.”

“The Grinberg Method has had a profound impact on my life. For the first time, I found work that doesn’t wear me down, and the joy I get from it feels limitless. I never imagined I could enjoy my work this much. I used to think that no matter how meaningful a job was, it would always involve some burnout and only limited satisfaction, as long as it paid the bills. The Grinberg Method is different. It holds a quality I never found anywhere else.
Through this work, I’ve learned to befriend my body, to get to know it and even love it. I discovered that sensations I once feared or avoided—pain, fear, frustration, anger, envy —actually carry qualities that shape and strengthen me. I realized how long in my life I’d been carrying patterns and habits from the past. Those patterns made me believe that my identity and personality were fixed, and that I had to live with those limitations. The Grinberg Method showed me that this isn’t true. It’s me who carries my patterns, and me who holds myself back from growing.
I also came to see that patterns are not just 'mental' or 'emotional' – they are deeply physical. I can literally feel the way I hold them in my body. And just as I once learned to create those patterns, I discovered I also have the strength and power to stop them. Every time I succeed, I grow stronger—both in body and in mind—and I feel more connected to reality.
Coming back to myself and to my body has made me a freer person. It shows in the way I live, in how I make a living, and in my relationships. I am without a doubt a happier, more whole person since bringing the Grinberg Method into my life. I still carry patterns and old traumas, and of course I can’t change my history. My influence on reality has its limits. But even so, with the Grinberg Method I now have the tools to be more present, more free, and to guide others in releasing their own patterns so they can live healthier, more vital, and calmer lives.
A few years ago, I didn’t even know the Grinberg Method existed. Today, I can’t imagine my life without it—or without the positive change it has brought me.”
