Learn Through Your Own Body
A Grinberg Method process is a one-on-one learning journey that helps you become freer, more present, and more able to choose how you live. Rather than “fixing” you, it teaches you to recognize and stop automatic patterns that keep you stuck, physically, emotionally, or mentally, so your energy can return to living fully.
Find a Certified PractitionerWhat Is a Grinberg Method Process?
A process is a series of individual sessions with a certified practitioner.
Each process has a personal aim: it can be about recovering from tension or pain, facing fear, freeing an emotion, changing an old habit, or growing a new quality you want to bring into your life.
Whichever aim you choose, the process is always tailored to you and what you want to change.
What to Expect in a Session
A Grinberg Method session begins with a foot assessment, a way of reading how stress and patterns are imprinted in your body. This information, together with any symptoms, difficulties, or desires you bring to the session, will help the practitioner identify a central pattern—something that constrains your health, expression, or growth.
Through a combination of touch, guided attention, breathing, movement, and exercises, the practitioner brings this pattern into your awareness and teaches you, bit by bit, how to stop it.
Along the way you may meet sensations, fears, or emotions that were repressed or ignored. By noticing what you do automatically in your body, stopping your patterns, and allowing rather than resisting, you regain the energy that was invested in holding back, as well as all
the power of the sensations and emotions you were refusing.
Each process is unique. There are no recipes or set procedures. The practitioner’s role is not to “fix” you, but to create the best conditions for you to learn. They will hold the space for you, focus your attention, and encourage your body to bring things to the surface, but the real
work is done by you. The more responsibility you take in the process, the greater the transformation. Real change does not come from someone doing something to you—it comes when you reclaim your own power.

How It Works
- Sessions usually last about one hour, scheduled weekly or bi-weekly.
- Your practitioner guides you with touch, verbal cues, breathing, and movement exercises.
- You’ll practice noticing, stopping, and choosing—skills you’ll take into daily life.
- Between sessions, you apply what you’ve learned: observing yourself, using exercises, and meeting life from a new place of attention.
What You Can Work On
Clients begin processes for many reasons, such as:
- Chronic or acute pain, headaches, back tension, digestive or breathing difficulties
- Anxiety, fear, stress, or emotional blocks
- Repetitive habits or limiting beliefs
- Life changes, creative projects, or qualities they want to strengthen (confidence, calm, vitality)
The common thread is a wish to live with more presence, choice, and freedom.

More details about the PractitionersHow Many Sessions Will I Need?
A Grinberg Method process is usually a series of sessions. Most people start with an initial aim and meet their practitioner weekly or bi-weekly.
Some aims may require only a few sessions; others grow into a longer process, depending on the depth of the pattern you’re working with and the pace of your learning.
Your practitioner will help you decide on a rhythm and review your progress along the way.

Confidentiality & Professional Ethics
Every session takes place in a safe, confidential space. Practitioners follow clear ethical standards regarding privacy, respect, and appropriate boundaries.
Professionalism is a central value of the Grinberg Method.
To support this, there is the International and Independent Association of Grinberg Method Professionals (IAGMP), an independent organisation that upholds high professional and ethical standards. The Association supports practitioners in developing their work responsibly and offers clients a place to turn if they ever have concerns about a session or experience.
While not all certified practitioners are IAGMP members, working with a member offers an extra layer of accountability and support. This reflects the Grinberg Method’s commitment to professionalism, integrity, and respect for both client and practitioner alike.

Yariv Barel
“When I first came to the Grinberg Method I was broken, disconnected from myself, and doubtful that bodywork could help. From the first meeting, I felt I’d entered something meaningful. I cried, laughed, felt pain, and gained insights during sessions and beyond. Almost a year later, I’m stronger, more connected, and understand how powerful learning through the body can be.”

“When I began sessions with the Grinberg Method, my sleep was at an all-time low: restless nights, teeth grinding, and constant waking. Through the process, I could meet repressed memories, feelings, and sensations, releasing deep inner tension. My sleep has improved immensely; I wake up rested, and many areas of my life are shifting as my body carries less weight.”

“I’ve been a client of the Grinberg Method on and off for over three decades, and each time I return, it’s a powerful and profoundly healing experience. By learning through the body, cultivating attention, and interrupting limiting patterns, I’ve found more freedom, resilience, and clarity. I’m grateful for this method, which teaches lasting change and offers tools I use every day.”
